Pak Foreign Minister Tells German Counterpart: India’s Clarification On Accidental Missile Launch ‘Superficial’

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Monday said the accidental fall of a missile from India into Pakistani territory is a “serious matter” that New Delhi can resolve only by “superficial cleaning”.

According to a statement issued by Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry, Qureshi made the said remarks during a telephonic conversation with his German counterpart Annalena Barbock.

The External Affairs Minister said India had expressed regret over it and said the missile had gone “accidentally”.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, however, Qureshi said that such a “serious matter” cannot be resolved with a “superficial explanation” from the Indian side.

He said that Pakistan has called for a joint investigation and is calling on the international community to take “deep cognizance of this serious incident in a denuclearized environment and play its due role in maintaining and promoting strategic stability in the region”. Is.

On Friday, the Indian government said it had “accidentally” fired a missile that had landed in Pakistan two days ago and that the incident was “extremely regrettable” due to a technical glitch during routine maintenance.
