IPL 2020 Title Sponsorship: BCCI has announced on Tuesday that Dream 11 will be its new title sponsor for the upcoming IPL. IPL was looking for a new title sponsor after Chinese company Vivo retracted.

New Delhi : The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced on Tuesday that Dream 11 will be its new title sponsor for the upcoming IPL. IPL had been looking for a new title sponsor since the Chinese company Vivo withdrew.

The Chinese mobile manufacturer signed a five-year contract in 2017. While BCCI received Rs 440 crore from Vivo, its agreement with Dream XI is for Rs 222 crore. Be aware that this year the IPL will be played in the UAE from 19 September to 10 November. 

After the India-China border tension, Vivo retreated as a title sponsor. IPL chairman Brajesh Patel has confirmed that Dream 11 will pay Rs 222 crore to BCCI. If sources are to be believed, Dream 11 was the highest bidder than Akademi and Bayouj.

Let us tell you that Dream 11 bid the most for the title sponsorship of Rs 222 crore. In this case Dream 11 overtook Byzus (201 crores) and Unacademy (170 crores). It is not yet known how many rupees the Tata company had bid.
