Separatist Leader Yasin Malik Confessed, Said – I Was Involved In Terrorism And Separatist Activities


Separatist leader Yasin Malik on Tuesday pleaded guilty in a Delhi court to all charges against him, including those under the stringent Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA), in a case related to terrorism and separatist activities. Court sources gave this information.

Sources said Malik told the court that he was under UAPA under sections 16 (terrorist activity), 17 (raising funds for terroristic activity), 18 (conspiracy to commit terroristic act), and 20 (being a member of a terrorist group or organisation).

And does not want to challenge the charges against him under sections 120-B (criminal conspiracy) and 124-A (sedition) of the Indian Penal Code. 

Special Judge Praveen Singh will hear arguments on May 19 regarding sentencing for the charges leveled against Malik, with the maximum punishment being life imprisonment.

Meanwhile, the court has ordered Farooq Ahmed Dar alias Bitta Karate, Shabir Shah, Masarat Alam, Mohammad Yusuf Shah, Aftab Ahmed Shah, Altaf Ahmed Shah, Naeem Khan, Mohammad Akbar Khande, Raja Mehrajuddin Kalwal, Bashir Ahmed Bhat, Zahoor Ahmed Shah Charges were formally framed against other Kashmiri separatist leaders including Watali, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Abdul Rashid Sheikh, and Naval Kishore Kapoor. 

The chargesheet was also filed against Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) founder Hafiz Saeed and Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin, who have been declared absconders in the case.
