Mumbai Local Train: Local Train Will Run From August 15, Only People Who Have Taken Both Doses Of Vaccine Will Be Able To Travel


After taking the second vaccine, the local train pass will be available only after there is a gap of 14 days.

Local trains, which are called the life line of Mumbai, are starting from August 15. 

In these, some conditions have been added to travel.

State CM Uddhav Thackeray has announced that people who have got both the doses of the vaccine will be able to travel in the local train. 

But after taking the second dose, it is necessary to have a gap of 14 days.

People who have been fully vaccinated will have to take a train pass to travel.

Which can be taken from smart phones, ward offices and suburban railway stations.

The CM of the state during his address said that passengers can download the train pass through the mobile app. 

Those who do not have smart phones can take photo passes from municipal ward offices in the city as well as from suburban railway stations. 

In a live webcast, the state CM said that his government is looking at more relaxations for shops, malls and restaurants and places of religious worship. 

A decision for this will be taken after the task force meeting on Monday.

Earlier, the state government had relaxed the Covid restrictions in 14 districts with lowest corona positivity. However, no decision was taken for Mumbai local trains. 

State CM Uddhav Thackeray had said on Saturday that he would take a decision in a few days as to how maximum number of people could be exempted. 

Till now only people related to essential sectors were allowed to travel in local trains. During his address, Thackeray said that the second wave is not over yet. 

The CM further said that the country has faced the wave of corona virus twice after the festivals last year. 

If there is a need to curb the corona virus, then everyone will have to strictly follow the rules. Thackeray said that the pace of vaccination is increasing but it is not enough. 

He said that the state government is strengthening the health infrastructure to deal with the third wave. 

Ahead of the state CM’s address, Deputy CM Ajit Pawar has announced relaxation in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad. 

He said that shops in Pune can remain open from August 9 till 8 pm and restaurants till 10 pm with 50 per cent capacity.

He said that malls in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad have been allowed to remain open till 8 pm, but only those people will be allowed to enter it. Those who have taken both doses of the Kovid-19 vaccine.

Let us tell you that businessmen and mall workers associations have been demanding that the opening hours of their establishments should be extended and for this they had also organized demonstrations. 

The Maharashtra government recently allowed shops to remain open till 8 pm in 25 districts, but this did not include Pune and ten other districts.
