Maharashtra: Building Collapses In Bhiwandi, 8 People Dead, 25 Stranded People Taken Out

Police said that this building collapsed in the early hours of Monday, rescue work is still going on

Maharashtra: A three-storey building collapsed in the Patel Compound area near Dhamankar Naka in Bhiwandi adjoining Mumbai. 

So far eight people have died in this incident, while the lives of 25 people have been saved. 20-25 people are still feared trapped. 

Two teams of NDRF are present on the spot for rescue work. According to the PRO of Thane Municipal Corporation, 8 people have died so far. 

This building was also given notice by the Metropolitan Municipality and there were more people than capacity.

At the same time, a child trapped in the debris was also taken out safely. According to the information received, the incident occurred around 3.30 pm. 

The building was constructed in 1984 and 21 families live here. Police-administration teams were rushed to the spot as soon as the incident was reported.

Also two NDRF teams were also called for help. 

Currently, 20-25 people are feared trapped in the building. Along with NDRF, police administration teams are also engaged in relief work.
