National Conference (NC) vice-president Omar Abdullah on Tuesday said people in Jammu and Kashmir are desperate as there is hardly a day when there is no violent incident.
He said that the government should take steps to improve the situation.
Umar told the media in Ganderbal, “The situation is in front of all of us.
There is hardly a day when there is no violent incident. People are desperate.
We want the situation to improve and the government will have to do something for that.”
The NC leader visited the shrine of Baba Nizamuddin Larvi Naqshbandi in Baba Nagri area on the occasion of the annual Urs.
Asked about the assembly in Jammu and Kashmir, Abdullah said,
“The responsibility of conducting elections rests with the Election Commission.
If the Election Commission decides to hold elections, only then will we start our preparations.
Right now we are not discussing or preparing for the elections.
