Sources said that in view of this, 128 wheels required for two carriages of the second phase of Vande Bharat train were brought to Romania via road and then preparations are on to bring them to India by cargo plane. Earlier there was a plan to bring these wheels from Black Sea port in Ukraine to Jawaharlal Nehru Port in Mumbai. Sources said that India has decided to place orders for supply of wheels to companies in Poland, Romania and the US for the future.
Sources said India will import only discs from abroad and Excel is being manufactured by a Bengaluru-based company. He told that the possibilities of manufacturing discs are also being explored in India so that we can become self-sufficient for it.
