Every earning person can file Income Tax Return (ITR). Income tax return is a form filed by an individual to report his annual income. The last date for filing income tax return is December 31, 2021.
This means taxpayers do not have even a month’s time to file ITR for the financial year 2021-22.
If a taxpayer is not able to file his income tax return by this period, he may have to face trouble.
If you are not filing ITR within this time limit then you may have to pay more tax.
For the convenience of taxpayers, the government had earlier this year launched an e-filing portal on June 7.
This will help taxpayers to file income tax returns online from the comfort of their homes.
The user only needs to log in to the Income Tax e-portal.
However, there were several glitches in the e-filing portal that users complained about.
