Bajaj Auto lost 5.3%, Eicher Motors fell 1.2%, and TVS Motors Ltd fell 2.5% in early trade today.
Market analysts say that the February sales figures of two-wheeler companies have seen the effect of rising petrol prices and pressure on rural demand.
Market leader Hero MotoCorp’s wholesale sales declined 29 per cent year-on-year to 3.58 lakh units in February, according to auto sales data released on Tuesday.
Its domestic sales also declined by 31.57 per cent during this period to 3.31 lakh units. In the same period last year, the company had sold 4.84 lakh units in the domestic market.
According to Eicher Motors’ sales figures for the month of February, Royal Enfield’s sales have seen a decline of 15 percent on a year-on-year basis, which has been lower than expected.
Similarly, its exports have come down from 9,000 in January this year to 7,000 in February.
The company says that the problem of semiconductor chip persisted even in the month of February.

Similarly, in the month of February, the total sales of TVS Motors has seen a decline of 5 percent on a yearly basis and it has been at 2.82 lakh units.

Similarly, the company’s domestic two-wheeler sales stood at 1.73 lakh units in February. It may see a decline of 11 per cent on a yearly basis.
